The 3rd Sydney Premier Football League will officially kick off in September 2026.

This year, the competition will once again raise its standards. The league will remain at 8 teams, with the main purpose of maintaining quality, competitiveness and a strong overall playing standard. At the same time, the competition will introduce its own dedicated event website, and selected matches will also feature professional photography coverage.

The background of participating teams will be even more diverse this season. In addition to teams with Chinese, Vietnamese and Brazilian backgrounds from previous years, the league will also welcome new elements from communities such as the Maldives and Nepal. This further strengthens the league’s commitment to multiculturalism and community connection through football.

The format will also be upgraded from the previous 7+1 rounds to a new 7+2 format:
7 rounds of single round-robin matches, followed by semi-finals and a final.
This structure gives more teams the opportunity to compete for a place in the knockout stage, while also adding greater drama, intensity and excitement to the competition.

This season’s match recording technology will also be upgraded from Veo 2 to Veo 3, delivering clearer 4K video quality and smarter AI tracking.

The original purpose of the competition remains unchanged:
to bring people together through football, to compete, to improve, and to build friendships through the game.

We welcome fair competition, respect and sportsmanship — and we strongly reject all forms of unsporting behaviour.
